Class Description: Daniel’s class blends contemporary dance with street styles: popping, hip hop, krump, and house. This is a class for the contemporary/modern Daniel Holtdancer hoping to focus on dynamics, highlighting ideals of physical/mental specificity, and efficient use of energy. We will focus on strengthening the body through Gaga-influenced movement to warm up, leading seamlessly into a focus on isolations and quick switches between dynamics. Class combos will highlight the range within contemporary physicality alongside that of street styles to diversify students’ abilities, and to deepen their understanding of contemporary dance.
